🌿 About River Roe and Mae

Four generations. One shared thread.

River Roe and Mae is a small-batch children’s clothing brand rooted in comfort, movement, and timeless curiosity. Founded by Jen — mama, maker, and the hands behind every stitch — the shop is an extension of a family legacy of women who loved and lived through sewing.

It all started with my grandmother, a seamstress and suit tailor who hand-sewed matching outfits for my sister and me during every holiday season. As a child, I wasn’t always thrilled — but as I grew older, I came to deeply admire her skill, creativity, and care. Years later, with a sewing machine gifted to me in fifth grade, I found myself returning to those roots.

After college, I began making clothing for myself: soft, functional, simple. When I had my daughter, it was only natural to begin sewing for her, too — but I quickly realized how fleeting baby sizes can be. Clothes that fit one day were packed away the next. I wanted to make garments that grew with her, that allowed for movement and mess, that stayed in the drawer instead of being tucked into a box of outgrown things.

So I began to design exactly that.

This shop began as a creative outlet and personal necessity — but it’s grown into something I hope will reach far beyond my home sewing table.

My hope is to build a brand that parents return to again and again — not just for clothing, but for comfort, trust, and a shared belief that little ones deserve garments made with care and made to last through every curiosity, wonder, and adventure.
